Returns & Exchanges

Timeframes

  • Standard returns/exchanges: Must be requested within 7 days of delivery.
  • Damaged-on-arrival items: Must be reported within 24 hours of delivery with supporting photos.

Return Process

  1. Email orders@themodshop.co.nz with "RETURN" or "EXCHANGE" in the subject line, including your order number and reason for return.
  2. We will confirm eligibility and provide return instructions.
  3. Return the item using a tracked and insured courier, ensuring it arrives in brand-new, resellable condition with all original packaging intact.

Returns sent without prior approval cannot be accepted.

Condition of Returned Items

  • Must be new, unused, and resellable
  • No signs of use, wear, fitting, mounting, or testing
  • No damage, marks, scratches, or alterations
  • All original packaging, accessories, labels, and documentation must be included

Important notes:

  • Wheels that have had tyres fitted are not eligible
  • Returns accepted only for items purchased directly from www.themodshop.co.nz
  • Sale items are excluded from returns or refunds
  • Wheel nuts are eligible for exchange only

Fitment & Compatibility

  • Customers are responsible for checking specifications and vehicle compatibility before ordering.
  • We are not responsible for fitment requiring additional components such as hub rings, spacers, nuts, or bolts.
  • We cannot match wheels to previous, back-ordered, or discontinued orders.

Consumer Guarantees & Warranty

We meet our obligations under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 for goods purchased for private use.

For items purchased for business or commercial use, the Act does not apply, and warranties are only provided if agreed in writing.

All products must be installed or fitted by a qualified professional or shop. Proof of installation or service (receipts, confirmation letters, etc.) may be requested. Failure to provide proof may void warranty or fault claims.

Warranty coverage applies to the product only and does not include:

  • Freight or shipping costs
  • Labour, fitting, or removal costs
  • Any additional or consequential expenses

Misuse, breakage, incorrect installation, or physical damage are not covered. Faulty items and damaged items are not the same; warranty only applies to genuine faults.

Incorrect Parts Supplied

In the rare case that The Mod Shop supplies an incorrect item(s), we will work promptly to resolve the issue. Customers must contact us before installation to arrange a return or exchange. We are not liable for labour, fitting, or installation costs if an incorrect item is installed. Items that have been fitted, used, or installed cannot be returned or refunded, even if supplied incorrectly.

Refunds & Processing Times

  • Approved refunds will be processed to your original payment method once your return is inspected and accepted.
  • Depending on your bank or payment provider, refunds may take 1–3 business days to appear.
  • If you haven’t received your refund yet:
    1. Check your bank account
    2. Contact your credit card company or bank (processing times may vary)
    3. If still not received, contact us at orders@themodshop.co.nz

Gift Cards / Store Credit

For returns or exchanges where a gift card or store credit was used, the value of the returned item will be returned as store credit. Store credit is valid for 1 year from the date of issue and will be issued minus any applicable return or restocking fees. Store credit can be used toward future purchases on www.themodshop.co.nz.

Shipping & Responsibility

  • Customers are responsible for all return shipping costs.
  • Origin and return shipping costs are non-refundable.
  • Items must be sent using a tracked courier.
  • If a return item(s) arrives damaged due to inadequate packaging or courier handling, it cannot be refunded or exchanged.
  • We are not responsible for items lost or delayed in transit.
